Mary Ellen Makowski

Mary Ellen Makowski, 81 years old of Delton, Michigan and formerly of Niles and Edwardsburg Michigan, passed to her rest on March 26th, 2025 at Bronson Hospital of Kalamazoo after an illness. She was born in Dowagiac Michigan, the daughter of Orrin John Deming and Vera Alva (Lee) Deming.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her husband Edward A. Makowski in 1994. Also preceding her in death were her parents Orrin and Vera Deming, as well as her sisters Elsie Petcher, Nora Feirick, Nina Aldrich, and Esther Brown. Mary Ellen is survived by her son Brian Makowski and his wife Nicole Massanari of Delton, and daughters Johanna and Samantha.

Mary Ellen enjoyed reading books and spending time with her family. She maintained strong friendships with her Garver Lake neighbors Sherri, Penny, and Pat and created more friendships when she moved to Niles and later when she moved to Delton. Mary Ellen will be missed.

Cremation has taken place and there will be a graveside service at 3:00 PM on Friday April 11, 2025 at The Adamsville Cemetery where she will be laid to rest by her husband, Edward. Officiating will be Pastor Rob Snodgrass, minister of the Hope Church, Edwardsburg.
