Mary Lou Heffley Koch, 90, of Potomac, MD, and Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away quietly in her home on Thursday Sept. 26, 2020. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Richard O. Koch Sr.; and their two sons, Richard Jr. and his wife, Kimberly, and Jeffrey A. Koch; her five grandchildren: Richard III, Garrett, Connor, Carson, and Dawson; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is the daughter of Herman and Mary (Tipton) Heffley. Born in Berlin, Mary Lou moved with her family to the Washington, D.C., area in early childhood. She worked at the U.S. State Department Passport Office, Marriott Corporation Headquarters, as well as Heffley's Printing & Supply Company. She was a lifelong member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Washington, D.C. Mary Lou was a compassionate and caring mother, daughter, wife, and grandmother.
