Mary G. (Mravcak) Lincoski, 80, of Ashburn, Virginia, and formerly of Shavertown, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 23, 2024 at Inova Loudoun Hospital, with John, her devoted husband of 54 years, by her side.
Born to Mary and Jacob Mravcak on March 24, 1943, Mary was the eldest of three daughters. Raised in Swoyersville, Pennsylvania, she graduated with the Class of 1961 from Central Catholic High School in Kingston, Pennsylvania and began working for the United States Department of Agriculture.
She married the love of her life, John, in 1969 and gave birth to two sons, John Jr. and Christopher, in 1972 and 1973 respectively. The family settled in Shavertown, Pennsylvania where Mary became her family's cornerstone, instilling the importance of faith, integrity and caring for others.
A longtime parishioner of St. Therese's, Shavertown, Mary was steadfast in her faith and fiercely proud of both her extended family and her Slovak heritage.
Mary's greatest joy was her family. She supported her family wholeheartedly, cheering on her sons' accomplishments, gathering around the family table for traditional holiday meals, and providing a comforting embrace during life's challenges.
Mary was later employed by Bergman's Department Store in Kingston before becoming a long-time employee of Penn State University. After moving to Virginia in 1998, she was employed as a court clerk for Loudoun County until her retirement in 2007. In retirement she enjoyed reading voraciously, travelling widely, and taking on the role of "Nana," loving her grandchildren to the fullest.
Mary was predeceased by her father, Jacob, and mother, Mary. She is survived by her husband John, son John Jr., his wife Laura and grandson Will; and son Christopher, wife Susan, and granddaughter Paige. Also surviving are sisters Agnes Mravcak and Anna Mike, brother-in-law Ted Mike, niece Gracemarie Fillenwarth, nephews Theodore Mike, Timothy Mike, Thomas Mike, and their families along with countless others from her extended family. She leaves behind many dear friends including Bernadette Osolnick of Leesburg, whose friendship with Mary spanned decades.
