Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Wilkerson Lee, age 58, of Rockport, Indiana formerly of Jeffersonville and New Washington entered this life on October 21, 1962 in Madison, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of Earl and Dorothy L. Bott Wilkerson. She was raised near Deputy and was a 1981 graduate of Southwestern High School and then received her family service counseling degree from Ivy Tech. She then attended Sullivan Business College and was currently working on her Bachelor's in Business. Mary was baptized and a member of the Dupont Baptist Church in Dupont, Indiana. She was united in marriage to Ricky Lee on August 21, 1986 and they resided in New Washington, Indiana. Ricky passed away on October 16, 2003. She had worked in casual supply for the U.S Postal Service and then for five years with the Kentucky Humane Society while living in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Mary moved to Rockport to be near her cousin, Jeri and worked for CE Taylor Oil, Inc. for four years and enjoyed helping at Quiznos, Noble Romans and Chuckles. Her favorite place to go was The Rustic and she enjoyed her friends she had met there. Mary also attended Gospel Missions Church in Rockport. She found great enjoyment in reading and her dog, Murphy. Mary fought a courageous battle with breast cancer. Mary died on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at 7:45 a.m. at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana.
A LOVING FAMILY
Mary will be missed by her loving aunt, Frances Wilkerson of Lexington, Indiana; her two cousins, Gayle Nay and her husband, Merrill of Madison, Indiana, Daryel Ellis and his wife, Susie of Zionsville, Indiana; her cousin and caregiver, Jeri Hauerstein of Rockport, Indiana; numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Irvin Wilkerson, her mother, Dorothy L. Bott Wilkerson, and her husband, Ricky Lee, died October 16, 2003.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 6, 2021, at 4:00 p.m., by Bro. Clifton Hartley at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at 3:00 p.m.in the New Bethel Cemetery in Chelsea, Indiana
VISITATION
Friends may visit Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE
Friends and family will gather on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at The Rustic in Rockport, Indiana and the time will be announced.
