Mary Susan "Sue" Hemmer Kaylor, 77, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, died Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at her home.
Sue "Susie" was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mary Ruth Geyer Hemmer and Charles Robert Hemmer of Bellefontaine, Ohio; brothers, Gregory Hemmer of Lima, Ohio, and Peter Hemmer of Bellefontaine, Ohio. Sue excelled in several professions in Ohio and the Carolinas, including real estate, higher education and newspaper advertising. After recovering from a cerebral hemorrhage in 1993, Sue pursued her passion for gardening and served as a horticultural therapy volunteer at a number of hospitals in Charlotte, N.C.
Survivors include her husband, Chris Sherk of Rock Hill; her sons, Tom Kaylor (and wife, Denise) of Fort Mill, S.C., and Matthew Kaylor (and wife, Kim) of Mint Hill, N.C.; her four grandchildren, Seth, Colette, Kyle and Addie; her aunt, Theresa Hemmer of Zanesville, Ohio; siblings, Bob (Sandy) Hemmer of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Kathy (Dick) Martin of Urbana, Ohio, Mark (Kim) Hemmer of Huntsville, Ohio, and Becky (Butch) McDonald of Bellefontaine, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.
