Mary Jane Mickshaw, 91, of Aiken, widow of Joseph Mickshaw, passed away March 13, 2021 surrounded by the love of her family.
Born April 15, 1929 in Pennsylvania, she was the oldest daughter of the late Thomas Allamon and Mildred Duke Allamon. She married Joseph Mickshaw at the First Christian Church in Clarksville PA in 1951.
In 1970 after losing her beloved husband Joseph, Jane completed a certificate in computer science while raising two daughters in Cincinnati, Ohio. She moved to Orlando, Florida to pursue a position in the radiology department of Florida Hospital. Jane was known as a person who always brought warmth and a smile to co-workers and patients. When not at work she volunteered at a local nursing home and enjoyed the company of many friends.
Family was important to Jane and she moved to Beckly, West Virginia for a time to care for her elderly mother during her mother's final illness.
She then moved to Aiken to be closer to her daughter and resided in the area for twenty years. During her time in Aiken Jane established many friendships and was a member of St. Mary Help of Christians Parish. Making memories and spending time with those she loved was one of her favorite things to do. She loved listening to music, going to concerts, reading, dining with friends, and enjoying family gatherings.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 19 years; and her younger brother, Roy Edward Allamon.
Jane leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters, Helen Jean Villa-Aleman (Eliel), Aiken, and Dr. Nancy Robert (Nick), Madison, CT. She also leaves grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great-grandson she adored, Kristen Heinlein (Daniel), Bermuda, Aaron Smith (Maryanna), Alexandria, VA, Michael Smith, Aiken, SC, Kate Mackey (Josh), Portland, OR, Michael Robert (Michelle), Tuscon, AZ and her great-grandson, Hayes Heinlein.
