HAMLER - Mary Jane Brubaker, 87, of Hamler, passed away 5:15 p.m., Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Vancrest of Holgate, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 6, 1934 in Leipsic to the late Edwin and Emma (Barlage) Ellerbrock. On October 17, 1953, she married Francis G. Brubaker, who preceded her in death on March 21, 2015.
Survivors include 9 children: Steve (Connie) Brubaker of Geneva, Christine (Jack) Everson of Chillicothe, Janet (Jay) Lemley of Napoleon, Gary Brubaker of Napoleon, Michael Brubaker of Napoleon, Roger (Sue) Brubaker of Defiance, Kevin (Mary Ann) Brubaker of Hamler, Tim (Laura) Brubaker of Bowling Green and Lisa (Jim Van de Bussche) Sheridan of Napoleon; 18 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 10 step great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Nancy Brubaker; a great-granddaughter, Maren Garber; a sister, Doris Bratton; and 3 brothers: James Ellerbrock, Norm Ellerbrock and Leonard "Tiny" Ellerbrock.
Mary Jane retired in 1996 from Campbell's Soup, Napoleon. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Hamler and Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and shopping at QVC. She loved cooking and baking, especially for family gatherings and was famous for her chocolate sheet cake. You never left mom's house with an empty stomach. Mary Jane was always there for her children and grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will begin 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 29, 2022 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Hamler with Father Steve Stanberry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday where a rosary service will be said at 5 p.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and one hour prior to the mass on Monday at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's Catholic Church, Hamler.
