Mary Ann Green Jacks
September 27, 1934 - April 16, 2021
Mary Ann Green Jacks, age 86, longtime resident of 109 W. Laurel Ave., Rome and Cedar Hill Assisted Living, Cedartown, recently moved to Cave Spring Manor, Cave Spring, where she died Friday morning peacefully in her sleep.
She was born September 27, 1934 in Rome, a daughter of the late Ernest Theophilus Green and the late Mary Lou Brock Green. Mary Ann attended Rome High School.
She retired from Georgia State Government March 1, 1997 after 21 years of employment. She was a member of West Rome Baptist Church for many years. Mary Ann enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking. Mary Ann wanted her life to glorify The Lord Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold "Pete" Emmett Jacks, brothers: David Richard Green, Odis Garner Green, Travis Reynolds Green, a grandson Matthew Prather, and son-in-law Larry Mattos.
Surviving is one son and wife, Stephen David Jacks and Ann Jacks, Cedartown, daughters, Donna Marlene Mattos, Rome, Rebecca Ann Jones and husband, Chris Jones, Cave Spring; three grandchildren whom she loved very much, Stephen Mansfield, Cartersville, Ryan Jones, Cave Spring and Mark Jacks, Cedartown; one great grandson Bryce Mansfield, one brother, Thomas "Tommy" Edward Green and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, April 21st, in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, with Rev. Tommy Green officiating. Interment will be in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Good Shepherd from 1 pm to 2 pm on Wednesday, April 21st.
Pallbearers are asked to meet at the Chapel by 12:30 pm Wednesday. Active pallbearers are her grandsons, Stephen Mansfield, Ryan Jones and Mark Jacks. Honorary pallbearer will be Charles Trippe of Cedartown, GA.
