Mary Elizabeth Stenson Harvey
After living a full life for 88 years, Mary Elizabeth (Stenson) Harvey decided she was tired, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 1, 2022 at Crestview Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Services in Lancaster. Mary was born on May 22, 1934 in Corning, OH and was the daughter of the late Jack and Marguerite Stenson. Mary lived much of her life in Congo, Ohio, where she met and married the love of her life, Jake Harvey, who preceded her in death. She and Jake were the proprietors of Stenson's Bar, the (in) famous nightclub in Congo. They spent most of their 35 years of marriage in Congo until Jake's untimely death in 1989, which broke Mary's heart. She was also preceded in death by her loving big brothers, Jimmy and Johnny Stenson.
Mary is survived by her two devoted daughters, Annie (Tim) Deitz (who was valedictorian of her class...Mary would want you to know that), and Margie (Kevin) Boyle (who had beautiful penmanship, much better than Annie's...Mary would want you to know that, too); Grandchildren Chris (Ross) Barton, Danny (Shayna) Boyle, Emma (fianc? Nick Tipton) Boyle, Beth (Matt) White and Maggie (Matt) Wion, great-grandchildren Parry, Boden and Bindi Boyle, and Silas Barton, sister Rose Eddy, sister-in-law Marg Stenson, and many nieces and nephews, including special niece, Cathy Bauer. Mary also leaves behind her lifelong, true-blue bestest friend ever, Patty Fisher Bowers....as well as the many hosts and hostesses of QVC, and the workers at the Eldorado Scioto Downs and Wheeling Island casinos.
While Mary was the first to admit she had her faults (one of her countless T-shirts read: Of course I'm not perfect. There's a crack in my a$$)...she was indeed perfect in the love she had for and showed to her family.
Mary's family would like to thank the administrators and staff (especially Activity Director Linda Donavan) of Crestview for the wonderful and loving care she received while a resident there. The family would also like to thank the staff of FairHoPe Hospice, for their exceptional compassion and support of comfort care.
A private service for immediate family only, and interment will be handled by the Roberts Winegardner Funeral Home in New Lexington. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary's name to: Crestview Resident Activity Fund, 957 Becks Knob Rd, Lancaster, OH 43130.
