Mary Gallatin Morin, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on February 10, 2021 at the age of 78, after a courageous three year battle with cancer. She was born December 26, 1942 in Dallas, Texas to Thomas Franklin and Regina Gallatin.
Mary married the love of her life, Lester Edwin "Ed" Morin on June 28, 1960. She and Ed with their four children moved to Shreveport on January 1, 1976. Mary enjoyed sewing, smocking and crochet. They were avid travelers and supporters of Louisiana Tech football and Lady Techsters Basketball. Many of their trips were to watch out of state games, playoffs, final four appearances, and bowl games. Mary had a love for others to know the Lord and showed her faith with mission trips to Alaska and Romania. Two of the trips she enjoyed most were traveling by train from Vancouver to Banff, Canada and visiting Ireland where they were able to tour many historical landmarks.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ed Morin; daughters, Angela Morin; Gae Morin Graham and husband, Kyle; Susan Morin Cox and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Gabrielle Cox, Christopher Graham, Stephen Cox, and Anna Claire Graham; sister, Joyce Gallatin Slough and husband, Marvin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Ernest Gallatin and son, Edwin Dwayne "Eddie" Morin. A celebration of life for Mary will be held Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., Broadmoor Baptist Church Memorial Chapel. The family would like to thank Dr. Snead and all the nurses at the Highland Cancer Center, and Brandi Peterson, R.N. and Ann Isaac from Amedisys Hospice.
