Mary Marlene (Dietrich) Freed, 79 lifelong resident of Burt Lake Michigan, went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2020.
Mary was born October 3, 1941 in Petoskey, Michigan. She was raised in Brutus Michigan, graduating from Alanson High School in 1960. She married the love of her life, Gerald Marvin Freed on January 28, 1961.
She was a member of the Burt Lake Christian Church and the Burt Lake Community Club. She also enjoyed camping, hunting, snowmobiling, and sometimes having a few drinks with friends. She retired in 2005, as a Quality Control Inspector at Northern Diecast in Harbor Springs, Michigan. After retiring she spent her time traveling, out west and to see her niece and nephew in Texas. She also enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her husband, Gerald Marvin Freed of 59 years. Daughter Laura (Lori) Burrer, son-in-law Thomas Burrer of Indian River, Michigan. Her grandchildren Kyle Burrer of Commerce City, Colorado. Brittany Burrer and Curtis Burrus of Elmira, Michigan. Her 6 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles H. Dietrich and Mary I. Dietrich. Her brothers James Snow, Charles H. Dietrich II, and Sister Lotty Elaine Stacy.
A Celebration of life will be held July 31, 2021, at Burt Lake Christian Church 11:00am
