Mary Elizabeth (Roberts) Florence, age 36, of Brown County, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 6th, 2022 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born on Wednesday, August 7, 1985 in Columbus, Indiana to Kevin and Tammy (Brown) Roberts.
Mary Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. She loved being surrounded by her loved ones. Mary graduated from Brown County High School in 2004 and continued her education at Ball State University graduating in 2008 with a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences and Child Development.
Helping people was Mary's true passion. She spent her nearly 15 year career serving her community both through her work at Centerstone and Turning Point as well as being an advocate for positive change in her free time. Her final act of selflessness was through organ and tissue donation through which Mary will save up to 8 lives and impact countless others.
Mary was preceded in her death by her grandparents Alice Roberts, Faye Kuhn, Dallas Kelp, and her father-in-law Bruce Calleja. She is survived by her husband Dishaue Florence; her three sons Dishaue Jr., Kareem, and Kingston; her parents Kevin & Tammy Roberts; her siblings James (Rachel) Halcomb, and Matthew Roberts; her grandparents Barbara H. Kelp, Til Followell, Lee & Jackie Roberts, and Randy & Angie Brown; her mother-in-law Deborah Calleja along with lots of aunts and uncles; dozens of cousins; and her beloved nieces and great nephew.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 3:00 - 8:00 PM in Bond Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Road 135 North. Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, February 11, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
