BRAINTREE- Mary Frances (McCue) Fleming (Franny) 91 years of age, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 15, 2021. Franny was born in Fox Harbour, Newfoundland to Agnes and Daniel McCue. After moving with her family to the United States Franny attended Jeremiah E. Burke High School in Dorchester. Upon graduating Franny became an operator for New England Telephone where she spent her entire 40 year career before retiring 30 years ago.Franny was a devout Catholic and a fierce believer in the power of prayer. Her favorite Saint was St. Anthony and to her "Tony" was a miracle worker. And quite often Franny would need to ask Tony to help her find something she had somehow misplaced.
Franny was devoted to her family and was married to her husband Robert Fleming for 58 years. She enjoyed spending summers at her cottage in Marshfield where she could relax on the front porch with her Sistas enjoying the warm ocean breeze. In her later years Franny especially enjoyed spending time with her many grandchildren. Franny is predeceased by her late husband Robert Fleming, her son Francis King and is survived by her children; Robert Fleming and Jodi of Braintree, Daniel Fleming and Paula of Dayton, OH, Mary Ellen Fleming of Braintree, Ann Marie Warner of Braintree and John Fleming of Pembroke. Franny was the sister to Joseph McCue, Catherine Leonard and the late Martha Merrill and John McCue. She is also survived by her 8 loving grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street Braintree on Wednesday June 23rd at 9:00am to be followed by a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church of Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Memorial donations in Mary's memory may be sent to St. Anthony's Guild, 144 W 32nd Street, New York, NY 10001.
