Mary Alliene Feaster, age 69, of Evelyn Court, Columbia, entered her eternal home on Saturday, September 18, 2021. She was the daughter of the late William R. Feaster, Sr., and the late Dorothy S. Feaster. She was a graduate of Union High School, Union, SC; and the University of South Carolina with a BSN in Nursing and a Master's in Counseling. She was employed at Palmetto Health, Columbia. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 24, 2021, at Holcombe Funeral Home in Union, SC. Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery in Union. Those in attendance are asked to follow COVID-19 protocols by wearing a mask and social distancing.
Surviving are a sister, C. Frances Feaster of Union; a brother, William R. Feaster of Union; aunts Mulloy Christopher of Goose Creek and Maxine Spinks of Kilgore, TX, and a number of cousins. She is also survived by a host of friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Sharon Feaster Lewis, and her brother-in-law, John Lewis.
Mary was active in Donate Life and LifePoint, organizations to promote organ/eye/tissue donations, as she received a kidney in 2008. She wishes to express special thanks to her donor family. Animals were a special part of her life, and she volunteered at Pawmetto Lifeline Adoption Shelter where she also served as a grief counselor. Several years ago, Mary received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Pawmetto Lifeline. Her furry friends were Sierra, Honey, Scooter, Sammy, Mia, and Lexi. She was a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church in Columbia. As long as her health permitted, she was actively involved in a sewing ministry that supported a church and schools in Kenya. She was an avid Gamecock fan.
