Mary Everitt

Mary Everitt, 85, a longtime resident of Montgomery County, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2025, in The Woodlands, Texas. She was born on July 20, 1940, in Houston, Texas, to Ernest G. and Zenobia Purswell.

Mary married the love of her life, Kenneth Everitt, and they shared more than 60 wonderful years together before his passing in 2020. In 1970, they settled in the Walco Acre community, where they made a loving home and raised their three sons, Jackie, Dennis, and Bobby.

Mary's devotion to her family was unmatched, but her caring nature extended far beyond her own household. She was constantly gathering and providing anything she thought someone might need. Mary could not stand to see anyone go without, and she made it her life's mission to help others in any way she could.

She proudly served Montgomery County as Judge Stalls' administrative assistant and later worked many years as a deputy clerk in both the County Clerk's and District Clerk's offices. Mary became especially well known and deeply loved within the community she called home for over 50 years. In recent years, she could also be found every weekend at Prince's Country Store, where her warm smile and friendly spirit were a familiar presence.

Mary's true passion was baking. Anyone who knew her knew her delicious homemade cakes, which she joyfully shared with family, friends, and neighbors. Her kindness, generosity, and servant's heart will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Everitt, and her son, Dennis Everitt. She is survived by her loving family: her sons, Jackie Everitt and wife Lisa Everitt, and Kenneth Everitt and wife Amy Everitt; her granddaughter, Stephanie Muckleroy and husband Mike Muckleroy; and her great-grandchildren, Victoria Hughes, Jade Billings, Kaitlyn Muckleroy, and Garrett Muckleroy.
