Mary Lois Ellenburg, 81, of Delmar, MD passed away peacefully Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Delmar Manor Assisted Living. Born in Knoxville, Tennessee; she was the daughter of the late Howard Alexander and Hazel Alexander (Kirby).
Following high school, she led a successful career working for the National Security Agency for over thirty years, culminating in serving as Executive Secretary/Office Manager for multiple Deputy Directors including Gerald Young, Robert Prestel and William Crowell. Mary served the Lord through her gift of music as the organist at Delmont United Methodist Church in Severn, MD, for over thirty years. She continued in that role at the Monterey, VA Presbyterian Church after she and her husband, Bill, retired from NSA and relocated to Monterey, VA where they built their dream home, an underground house. Above all else, she was a loving wife, mother, and friend to many.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Krista Hill, and her husband, Jeffrey, of Delmar, DE, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charlie and Donna Ellenburg, of Knoxville, TN, six nieces and nephews and multiple great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 59 years, William "Bill" Ellenburg in 2021.
