Mary Therese DiMuro, of Waldorf, MD, passed away on August 19, 2022. Born and raised in Queens, NY, Mary attended Christ the King High School and Marymount College in New York City before making her permanent home in Southern Maryland.
Mary worked as a Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner for the US Department of Labor for over 40 years and enjoyed stitchery and word puzzles. She was an avid cat enthusiast. Above all, Mary was a gifted musician, playing piano, guitar, violin, and oboe. She sang locally in many community and church choirs, and was a long-time cantor at St. Peter's Church in Waldorf, MD, where she was also a member of the Catholic Daughters organization. She will always be remembered for her quick wit, generosity, and unconditional love for her family & friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Michael DiMuro and her sister Karen Ferraro, of Queens, NY. She is survived by her sister Diane DiMuro, brother and sister-in-law Michael and Marie DiMuro, nephews Rob DiMuro and Joseph Ferraro, her goddaughter and family: Laura & Michael Schreyer and their children Sr. Anna Maria, Benjamin, Matthew, Mary Claire, Olivia, and Bridget.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 25, from 2-4 and 6-8 at Raymond's Funeral Home in La Plata. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday August 26, at 11:00 am at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Waldorf, MD. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in La Plata, MD.
In addition to flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Congregation of St. Cecilia in Nashville, TN, and the Humane Society of Charles County.
