Mary Louise Luckett, 93 of Charlotte Hall, Maryland died at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home on October 2, 2024.
She was born in the Hollywood neighborhood of College Park, Maryland on January 13, 1931 to Jesse Curry and Delilah Knicley Curry. Mary grew up in several neighborhoods in Prince George's County, Maryland before marrying Ralph Mitchell Luckett in 1949.
Ralph, a Veteran of World War II and the Korean War, was a career soldier in the U.S. Army. Mary traveled with Ralph to assignments in Munich, Germany, Metz and Orleans, France, and Fort Knox, Kentucky. During this time the couple had three daughters. After Ralph's retirement, their last child, a son was born.
Mary was a housewife while raising her four children. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed embroidering. She was an avid bingo player. After the children grew older, she worked as a preschool aide.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, daughter, Joann Luckett Carter, three sisters, and two brothers.
She is survived by her daughters; Constance Luckett Walton (John), and Elizabeth Luckett Kidwell (Paul); son, John Luckett (Wanda); son in-law, Michael Carter, nine grandchildren; Julia Walton, John Walton III, Daniel Walton, David Walton, Kristina Gilman, Susan Carter, Jacob Carter, Jennifer Luckett, and Linda Luckett; six great-grandchildren; Gabriella Walton, John Walton IV, Madelyn Walton, Aubrey Walton, Dakota Johnson, and Raelynn Gilbert.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 9:00 AM until time of service at 10:30 AM at Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Ave, La Plata, MD 20646. Interment will follow at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Mary's name are asked to Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, 29449 Charlotte Hall Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.
