Mary C. (Piper) Arnold, 84, of New Oxford, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at UPMC Hanover Hospital, with her loving family by her side.
Born December 18, 1940, in Brunswick, MD, she was the daughter of the late Norman A. and Catherine E. (Gross) Piper. Mary was the loving wife of H. Wayne Arnold, with whom she shared over 64 years of marriage.
Mary was a 1958 graduate of Brunswick High School, and a 1961 graduate of Strayer Business College in Washington, D.C. She worked in medical logistics for the U.S. Air Force, at Fort Detrick for 24 years until her retirement in 2001.
Mary was a member of Calvary Bible Church, Hanover, PA, where she was a Supper Six coordinator. She sang in various choirs since the age of 14 and most recently and for the longest at Calvary Bible Church.
Mary was a member of the Christian Women's Club of Hanover, serving as former chair and in many other positions for 18 years. While in Frederick, MD, she served as a youth leader for 3 years, and a Girl Scout leader for 3 years.
Mary loved music, cooking, reading, traveling, and her church work. She especially loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her loving husband, Wayne, Mary is survived by her children, Kathy M. Arnold Stahl, and David W. Arnold and wife Bonnie C. Finnicum Arnold; 6 grandchildren, John Z. Stahl, Elizabeth Stahl Snow, Richard Z. Stahl, Cameron E. Arnold, Kyle N. Arnold, and Travis W. Arnold; 2 great-grandchildren, Gabriel J. Snow and Michael J. Snow; and 3 siblings, Joyce M. Piper Brown and husband Samuel L., Patti A. Piper Lancaster, and N. Jeannie Piper Cooper.
Visitations and times to share memories with the family will be held from 7 - 8:30 PM, Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 66 East Hanover Street, Gettysburg (Bonneauville) PA, as well as from 9:30AM-10:30AM, Friday, May 2, 2025, at the church. A funeral service to celebrate and remember Mary will be held 10:30AM, Friday, May 2, 2025, at Calvary Bible Church, 603 Wilson Avenue, Hanover, PA, with Pastor Dom Aquilino officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Jefferson Reformed Cemetery, Jefferson, MD.
