LIMA -- Mary Lou Bok (Culver) passed away on July 16, 2022 at Kessler Estates. She was born on November 22, 1928 to Ruth and Ross Culver in Spencerville, Ohio. The second child in the family which included her siblings Donna, Merlin, and Homer (all preceded her in death). She had many good memories of home on Conant Road. She graduated from Spencerville High School and liked to tell her days there as a cheerleader for the basketball team.
She married Richard M. Bok who passed away in 1999. They had 5 children, Dennis(Colleen) Bok, Linda(Les) Boothby, Terry Bok who passed away in 2000, Jeff(Polly) Bok and Steve(Melanie) Bok. She is survived by 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson and another one on the way. Her grandson, Tyler Boothby, is deceased.
Mary Lou worked in the cafeteria at Elida Elementary School. She was a member of the Lima Baptist Temple Church where she sang in the choir for many years.
Traveling to many places over the years made so many memories for her. She enjoyed a quiet ride through the beautiful country of Holmes County, walking on the beach in Myrtle Beach, and being around the busy streets of New York City.
In her more recent years, she spent much time listening to her Gaither CD's, watching I Love Lucy reruns, and going to Wapakoneta for lunch at the Lucky Steer or Captain D's. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday July 21, 2022 from 2-4 PM and 6-7:30 PM with a service at 7:30 pm, with Pastor Gary Homan of Lima Baptist Temple officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida.
