Mary Louise (Sutter) Bellingham, 88, of Maple Plain, Minnesota, passed away on January 9, 2025. Mary was born on May 6, 1936 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Robert and Ethel Sutter. She grew up in Duluth with her sisters Carrie, Roberta, and Ethel (Etsy) and graduated from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN.
Mary was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and extended family. She worked as a grade school teacher, a music teacher, a piano instructor, an interior designer, and ultimately had a fulfilling career as a probate researcher. Her last job originated out of her love for genealogy. Mary was an avid genealogist, authoring books on genealogy and working with the Minnesota Genealogical Society for many years. Mary expressed her Catholic faith as an organist for Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto, Minnesota for nearly 40 years.
Mary is survived by her children Robert, Mark, John and Janet Bellingham (James Orr), sisters Roberta Johnson and Etsy Anderson, and grandchildren Chelsea Bellingham, Trent (Amanda) Bellingham, Conor Bellingham, Zoe Orr, Charles Orr and Oskar Orr. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles Bellingham and her son James Bellingham.
Visitation will be Friday, January 24, 2025 at Iten Funeral home in Delano, MN, 6 to 8 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Loretto, MN. Visitation 10-11 AM prior, with internment and reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials or donations may be made to Catholic Charities.
