Funeral services for Mary Rosann Ashe, 53, of Lufkin, will be held Friday, November 1, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Pastor Carl Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Old Shiloh Cemetery in Mt. Enterprise.
Mrs. Mary Rosann Ashe was born on May 19, 1971, in Deridder, Louisiana , to Mickey Walker and Carol Ann Walker, and died Saturday, October 26, 2024, in Jasper.
Ms. Mary Ashe was an avid outdoorsman who found peace in solo camping, hiking, and fishing. Her life was dedicated to children, as she spent 20 years working in schools and touched the lives of all those she spent time with. She loved curling up with a good book and a hot cup of coffee in one of her many mugs along with some chocolate. Her family was her greatest source of joy, specifically her boys and her grandsons, whom she loved fiercely. We are all better for having known her and will cherish the time we were blessed to spend with her.
She is survived by her son and wife, Cody and Kacie Welch of Lufkin; son and wife, Michael and Sarah Welch of Lufkin; son, Joshua Ashe of Jasper; grandsons, Joseph and Sylas Welch; sister, Donna Sue Bledsoe; brother, David Cooler Sr.; brother, Rodney Cooley; mother, Carol Walker; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Mickey Walker; and son, Justin Welch.
Pallbearers will be Michael Welch, Cody Welch, Carl Smith, Daniel Ashe, Kevin Sanderson, and Justin Welch.
Honorary pallbearer will be Joshua Ashe.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 1, 2024, at Shafer Funeral Home.
