Mary Ann (Hoffman) Burdick, age 86 of the Villages, FL, passed away peacefully November 14, 2019 under hospice care. She was born November 7, 1933, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to Walter and Agnes (Scheuer) Hoffman.
Mary Ann was a Registered Nurse in Waukesha working as the Assistant Director of the Virginian Nursing Home, before suffering a brain aneurism and stroke in 1991, at the age of 58. She persevered through numerous medical setbacks and never gave up her determination, strength and spunk. While in Wisconsin, Mary Ann was very involved in her community and church. She was a Jaycette President, Fatima Council President, Girl Scout troop leader, and Wausau Story Drum and Bugle Corp Nurse.
She retired with her husband Orville Burdick to the Villages in 1999 where she continued her love of meeting people, motor homing and traveling to new and exotic places. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who loved to entertain, her talents and interests were many. She enjoyed playing Bridge, collecting Hummels and coins, attending live performances at the Savannah Center, dancing and at one time was a baton twirler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Agnes (Scheuer)Hoffman, her sister Carolyn Hoffman, and her sister-in-law Lacille Hoffman.
Mary Ann spent her last 17 months under the loving and compassionate care of the team at Mission Oaks, assisted living community, where in addition to meeting new friends, she eagerly shared her nursing knowledge of elder care. The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful care, comfort and support provided by the staff of Vitas Healthcare Critical Care team, and the Mission Oaks team during her final days.
Cremation is planned. A celebration of life and funeral mass are pending. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her honor to Boys Town, St Jude's Children's Hospital, or the Ronald McDonald House.
Rest in peace dear Mary Ann, Mom, "White Lightning" and Ma, your pain is gone now. You will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved you. Your smile could light up the room. Until we meet again, may the Lord keep you and hold you close.
