Mr. Marvin Albert Caldwell, age 87, of Armuchee, GA, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020.
Mr. Caldwell was born in Rome, GA on January 4, 1933, son of late Annie Laura Davis Caldwell and the late William Griffin Caldwell. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Mae Caldwell, by a sister, Jeanie Nelson, and by 5 brothers, Calvin Caldwell, Tom Caldwell, John Caldwell, Monroe Caldwell, and George Caldwell. Marvin served our country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Mohawk Carpets as a Hyster Operator and was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughters, Sheila Mae Barrett, Karen Ann Pursley, and Teresa Marvine Crabtree (David); his son, Marvin Randall Caldwell; sisters, Mary Spiller, Martha Hicks, and Janie Beard; grandchildren, Lee Crabtree, Randall "Bubba" Crabtree, Misty Ingram, Randy Martin, Randall Caldwell , Calandra Goss, Kalean Caldwell; great grandchildren, Levi Crabtree, Peyton Martin, Tate Martin; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020, at 3:30pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, with the Rev. Clifford Free officiating. Interment will follow in New Armuchee Baptist Church Cemetery with the American Legion Post #5 Honor Guard presenting full military honors.
Mr. Caldwell will lie in state at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Friday from 1:30 pm until the service hour with social distancing guidelines being followed.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Friday at 3:00pm and include: Randy Martin, Chris Ingram, Lee Crabtree, Bubba Crabtree, Randall Caldwell, and David Crabtree.
