LTC. Martin "Marty" Jimenez- Born Feb. 1, 1956 to Annie Jimenez and the late Arturo Jimenez, Lieutenant Colonel (retired). Marty Jimenez passed away on April 5, 2021 in San Antonio, TX, after a short illness.
Preceded in death by his sister Ronnie and brother Gabriel.
He is survived by his mother Annie Jimenez of Albuquerque NM, sister Sandi Greene, brother Steve Jimenez, sister Felicia Jimenez all of Albuquerque NM, daughter Erika Kidwell of Fayetteville NC, and son Gabriel Jimenez of AZ. His soulmate Cathy Mantz of San Antonio TX, step-sons Chris Frakes of Waco TX, and KC Frakes of TN. Marty is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and friends. Lots and lots of friends.
Marty was a graduate of Manzano High School class of 1974. He then attended the US Military Academy at West Point and graduated in 1979. He served and retired from the US Army in 2001 where he then worked for a Government contractor in Virginia and Hyatt Hotels prior to relocating to San Antonio. Easily spotted in a Boston Red Sox or Washington Redskins hat, Marty made a friend everywhere he went. Known to be analytical, he had a quick wit and could joke with the best of people. From adventuring on a hike or a ski trip to chilling in a lawn chair, Marty made the most of his time with those around him. He truly was everybody's friend. It was nothing for him to pick up a tab when you weren't looking.
The world is left with a huge loss at this time as the world would be better off if there were more people like Marty. To say he will be missed is an understatement. In lieu of flowers and cards, the family requests those who know him to be more like him and truly live life.
