Obituary: Martin Paul Cockeram (May 13, 1977 - December 18, 2023)
Martin Paul Cockeram, age 46, passed away on December 18, 2023, in Traverse City. He was a loving father and his two daughters, Madison Renee Cockeram and Payton Rylie Cockeram, and son, Preston Thomas Thieman, they meant the world to him. Martin was known for his caring nature and willingness to help anyone in need.
Born on May 13, 1977, Martin grew up in Cadillac and attended Cadillac High School. Martin most recently worked as a delivery driver at Vandries of Cadillac, where he formed strong bonds with his coworkers, whom he considered family. He had also worked at FIAMM and Walmart during his professional journey.
In his free time, Martin cherished moments spent with his children. They were his life, and he enjoyed engaging in crafts with them and embarking on memorable trips. He had a passion for traveling and found solace in walking along the serene shores of Lake Cadillac. Martin was also an avid sports fan, particularly supporting the Detroit Lions and Michigan football. Additionally, he delighted in making homemade jam.
Martin leaves behind his brothers, Jamie (Lisa) Cockeram and Jason (Ruby) Cockeram, as well as his stepfather, Paul Beckelic. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Beckelic, father, James Cockeram, and stepmother, Kimberly Cockeram.
A private family gathering has taken place to honor Martin's memory. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Gift of Life in his name.
Martin Paul Cockeram will be dearly missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
