Mrs. Martha Ruth Timmons Rollings, 84, of Jefferson, South Carolina went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. She no longer needs her trusted leg braces because today she is completely healed! Martha was born on November 14, 1939, to the late Joseph Roscoe Timmons and Lillie Mae Mills Timmons. She was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, the best grandmother, a loving aunt, a treasured friend, and best of all, a child of God. She loved her church, Jefferson First Baptist, she loved family gatherings, sweet conversations with friends, and she loved to laugh. Facebook kept her connected and her love of reading and crossword puzzles never ended. Martha was also an amazing cook, and for as long as she was able, she cooked delicious meals for her family. She will be remembered for her lemon pies, homemade biscuits, salmon patties, country style steak, and her famous grilled cheese sandwiches!
Martha's earthly body was far from perfect. She faced endless physical challenges, but she did have a perfect heart, a treasured gift that only God can give. She shared this gift of love with everyone she met, and she brightened our world with her beautiful smile. Her life was an inspiration to us all. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her loving husband and best friend, Albert (Honey) Rollings; brothers, Joe Timmons and Charlie Timmons; sisters, Louise McCray and Faye Curlee; brothers-in-law, Tommy McCray and Billy Curlee; sisters-in-law, Doris Timmons and Mary Lois Timmons, and granddaughter, Sarah Ashley Rollings. Those left to treasure her goodness and celebrate her life include her children, Charlie Benton, Teresa Rollins (Phil), and Craig Benton of Jefferson, South Carolina; brother, Carroll Timmons (Jane) of Glen Burnie, Maryland; step-sons, Al Rollings (Jane), Todd Rollings (Kym), and Ritchie Rollings (Rachel) of Jefferson, South Carolina; grandchildren, Lacey Lowery (Jason), Zane Rollins (Laura), Beau Rollins, Victoria Rollins, Travis Benton, Lynn Rollings (Krystal), Andrew Rollings (Laura), Anna Rollings (Jamie), Joseph Rollings (Kylie), John Ashley Rollings, Ella Rollings, Matthew Rollings, and Paul Rollings; great-grandchildren, Gaige and Grayson Lowery, Seth and Sarah Jane Rollings, Kingston Jackson, Wales Rollings, and Joanna Rollings; children of the heart, Susan and Larry Melton and Monte and Lynn Sullivan; and grandchildren of the heart, Slade, Hart, Trace, and Ryn Melton and Stoan Sullivan.
