Martha "Alice" (Lockhart) Cline, age 76, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday evening, November 14, 2024.
Alice was born in Welch, West Virginia, on January 2, 1948, to the late Delbert and Loraine (Taylor) Lockhart. She graduated from Iaeger High School in Iaeger, West Virginia, in 1965. Alice retired in 2023 after a fulfilling career as co-owner and operator of Cline Doors in Trafalgar, a family business she ran with her husband, Bruce, for over 37 years.
Alice found joy in the simple things in life. She enjoyed staying at home, riding her John Deere Gator, tending to her property, and welcoming family and friends into her home. A passionate reader, Alice loved romance novels and was an avid NASCAR fan, cheering on her favorite drivers, Dale Earnhardt and Kevin Harvick. Alice and Bruce also enjoyed traveling together, especially their trips to Cancun, Mexico. Above all, Alice adored her family, and she cherished spending time with her grandchildren, often playing games and creating lasting memories with them.
Alice is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Bruce R. Cline, whom she married on April 12, 1967, in Grundy, Virginia. She is also survived by her children: Beth Cline, Tina (Rob) Lockhart, and Josh (Codi) Cline, all of Trafalgar; her sister, Debbie (Judy Cline) Lockhart of Lakeland, Florida; sister-in-law, Pam Wills of Trafalgar; brother-in-law, Tim Cline of Ohio; grandchildren, Kylie Lockhart, Cody Lockhart, and Daniel Cline, all of Trafalgar; Evelyn (Jeremiah Turner) Cline of Brown County; and a great-granddaughter, Lola Turner of Brown County.
In keeping with Alice's wishes, there will be no formal services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
The Cline family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Alice's memory to Select Hospice, 650 E. Carmel Drive, Ste. 420, Carmel, IN 46032, for their exceptional care and compassion.
