On Tuesday, January 12, 2021, Marsha Tanaka (nee Urada), a loving wife & mother of 2 daughters & 1 furry son, passed away at the age of 68. Marsha was born on July 6, 1952 in Wailuku, Maui to Hitoshi & Patsy Urada. She received her Bachelor's & Master's of Science in Education from Oregon College of Education. She practiced speech pathology for the Department of Education until July 2015. On June 26, 1975, she married Byron Tanaka. They raised two daughters, Brooke & Marisa, in Kula, Maui.
Marsha lived life to the absolute fullest & that zest for life was infectious. She was known for her radiant smile, bubbly personality, eternal optimism & generosity. Marsha deeply treasured her family. Her daughters though of Marsha as a best friend rather than a mother, as she encouraged them to chase their dreams & was their biggest cheerleader. Byron was the love of her life & he remained by her side until the very end, along with her fur baby, Kuma.
Preceded in death by her father, Hitoshi, and her mother, Patsy, she is survived by her husband, Byron; her two daughters, Brooke and Marisa, and her beloved Yorkshire terrier, Kuma. In light of the recent public health crisis, a funeral service will not be held.
