Marlene Ann (Dallesander) Stawski, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Thursday May 4, 2023. She was the wife and best friend of Walter Stawski, with whom she shared 55 wonderful years of love and life adventures.
Born in Hartford on November 3, 1946, she was the only daughter to the late Michael and Evelyn (Beebe) Dallesander. Raised and educated in Wethersfield, she was a 1965 graduate of Wethersfield High School. A member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, she furthered her education at Endicott College, from where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and began her passion for championing for women's rights. She and Walter settled in Watertown where they raised their family of three daughters and became proud grandparents. Marlene began her career as a buyer for Sherwin Medical, a job she thoroughly enjoyed, and retired in 2000 as an executive assistant at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, having been in the comfort of their care during her final days. Her 23 years of retirement were spent leaving no stone unturned. She fulfilled her love for the beach, wintering in Florida and cruising to the islands; traveling the world on dream vacations, including crossing Paris off of her bucket list; and entertaining family and friends with her infectious love for life and addictive cinnamon rolls. She had a love for shopping, mostly so she could spoil her children and grandkids with thoughtful gifts, and embraced quiet times at home tending to her gardens and enjoying a good book. While she has left this earthly life, she leaves her family and many dear friends to whom she was loyally devoted with countless memories of love and laughter.
In addition to her husband Walter, she leaves her three daughters, Debra Gallo and her husband Scott, Theresa Stawski, and Amy Plourde and her husband, Kevin; her fourth "daughter" Marybeth DePompa with whom she shared a special bond; her adored grandchildren, Nathan and Jacob Gallo, Riley Stawski, and Peyton, Logan and Griffin Plourde; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and lifelong friends.
In lieu of flowers, Marlene may be remembered with contributions to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research PO Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741 or at www.michaeljfox.org
