Mark D. Zahorian, age 60 of Snellville, GA, passed away from a long illness on Monday, February 22, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family and friends. Mark is survived by his wife of 25 years, Amy Congleton Zahorian; children, Molly Zahorian of Raleigh, NC and Nikolas Zahorian of Rochester, NY; sister, Sarah Zahorian; brother, Tim Brown (Alicia) of Elmira, NY; and step-father, Tom Bush of Watkins Glen, NY. Mark was predeceased by his mother and father, Barbara & Anthony Zahorian, Jr. of Pine City, NY. Mark graduated from Southside High School, in Elmira, NY, in 1978 and went to SUNY Geneseo where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology in 1982. Mark worked in the food and beverage industry his entire career and spent his last 21 years working at Bones in Atlanta, GA. He was a member of Cannon United Methodist Church, Snellville, GA. Mark was loved by everyone who met him. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and friend to everyone he met. He enjoyed camping with his family, reading, cooking for his family and friends, was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and life long Buffalo Bills Mafia member. He loved dogs, and was very proud to support Southeastern Guide Dogs of Palmetto, FL, by raising 5 guide dog puppies with his family. Mark always enjoyed his time with family on Seneca Lake, NY and visiting craft breweries everywhere he went. Family and friends are invited to gather for a memorial service at Tom M. Wages Funeral Home, in Snellville, GA, on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 3:00 PM. Visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the funeral home. A future celebration in Elmira, NY will be announced at later date/time. The family would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to Bones for all of their support and understanding throughout Mark's illness and to the Nurses at Suburban Hematology-Oncology for their very loving care. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to honor Mark, please consider a donation in his name to Southeastern Guide Dogs, the United States Bartender's Guild, or the Cancer Society of America for Esophageal Cancer research.
