Mark Patrick Stanton, 60, of Salisbury, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born on March 17, 1961 in Broome County, NY to the late Clarence Stanton and Helen Molinex Stanton.
Mark worked as a Construction Foreman as well as a Racecar Owner and Crew Chief. He enjoyed building and maintaining racecars for many teams but especially for his son Jeffrey in the Inex Bandolero and Legends Division at racetracks throughout the south. Mark also loved music and performed in several bands in his younger years along with participating in the choir at Organ Lutheran Church in Rockwell for many years before his illness. Mark also was greatly involved in his son Jeffrey's toy and baby charity called Jeffrey's Toy Closet which has helped many children in NC and throughout the United States. Mark is especially remembered for always wanting and helping anyone who had a need.
In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by, Vasta Marie and Anthony L.Ditta; his in-laws, his Uncle, Karl Molinex , along with Aunt, Marion Stanton; and his brother-in-law, Scott Sherman.
Mark is survived by his wife of 33 years, Debra Ditta Stanton of Salisbury; his son Jeffrey Tyler Stanton of Salisbury; his brothers, Dale Stanton of Elmira,NY; Terry Stanton of Endicott, NY, and David Stanton of Binghamton, NY; Mark has three nephews, Joey, Corey, and Wayne Stanton of Binghamton along with cousins.
There are no services scheduled at this time. A memorial will be held in NC and in NY at the convenience of the family.
