Mark William Mades , 58 Nov 19, 1962 - Jan 11, 2021 Mark William Mades , 58, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Monday, January 11, 2021, at his home.
Born Monday, November 19, 1962 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of Charles Franklin Mades and Barbara Jean (Shank) Mades of Hagerstown, MD.
Mark graduated from Williamsport High School in 1980, and later graduated from Hagerstown Junior College in 1983. He was previously employed with Alcatel- Lucent retiring after 25 years of service. He most recently was employed with the Washington County government as Director of Wireless Communications. Mark was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 378, S.A.L. of Dixon-Troxell Post 211, Red Men Tribe 84, Beaver Creek Country Club, he also marshaled at Black Rock Golf Course. Mark loved sports and enjoyed mentoring young athletes through his coaching, and umpiring. One of his fondest memories was being part of the Rock City Reds Rugby Team. Mark was an avid golfer, but his greatest joy was being a loving husband, father and Poppy.
He is survived by his wife Susan Melissa Mades; daughter, Kaitlyn Nicole Mades of Hagerstown, MD; son, Joshua Charles Mades of Hagerstown, MD; grandson, Cameron Joshua Santell of Hagerstown, MD; brother, Michael Charles Mades and wife Laura of Towson, MD; sister, Melissa Ann Weber and husband Mark of Hagerstown, MD., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday, January 18, 2021, at 11:00 am, at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North Hagerstown, MD, with the Rev. John J. Jicha officiating. For those wishing to view the service online, you may go to www.twitch.tv/luckystarstudios
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 17, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm & 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Private interment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery
