Mark Raymond Horsch, of Grasston, MN, passed away on February 21, 2025. He was 67 years old.
Mark Raymond Horsch was born on July 22, 1957 in Robbinsdale, MN to Raymond F. & Lois L. (Roepke) Horsch. He was baptized on August 11, 1957 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN, and confirmed on April 30, 1972 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Robbinsdale, MN. Mark attended school at Emmanuel Lutheran, Plymouth Junior High and graduated from Cooper High School in 1975.
Growing up Mark enjoyed spending time at the family's cabin on Mille Lacs Lake. He always enjoyed the water and boats. He even built a hydroplane boat in high school. Mark was an excellent water skier, his brother described watching him ski as poetic. A couple weeks every
year were spent with the family at his grandparent's farm in Iowa, where he developed his love of farm life.
On June 11, 1994. Mark was united in marriage with Lisa Jean Spier at Trinity Lutheran Church in Isle. They bought a farm in Dalbo, where they had the space to have their horses and many other animals. They were blessed with two beautiful children Tallie Rae & Kohl Roland Ray, who Mark loved with all of his heart. He spent his days on the farm riding horses with Tallie and more recently loved riding snowmobiles with Kohl across county lines. Growing up, his children reminisce about the shenanigans on the farm, from playing school in the barn, building snow forts to playing tag on the four wheelers and on the hay bales. He was a devoted father and was so proud of his children and all of their accomplishments.
Mark was skilled in many areas, being employed in drapery installation, machinist, construction, lawn care, and eventually retired from the local 49ers Union as a heavy equipment operator in 2023. Mark was a hard worker and always had projects he was working on. Whether he was putting together the motorcycle he bought when he was 18, or changing out the skid frame on his snowmobile, he always kept himself busy.
In 2012, he met Lisa Anderson. Together Mark and Lisa worked on various projects around the house, including a covered woodshed and a beautiful bonfire pit where they enjoyed many campfires. Their favorite place to be was under the peace tree, observing the garden that they
grew together.
Mark excelled at everything he put his mind to, including helping family and friends with their tasks, unless he was folding socks that day. Mark brought joy to the lives of many people. For those who had the opportunity to be with him, there was always fun to be had and memories to
be made.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents.
Mark will be lovingly remembered by children Tallie Horsch (Levi Maas) and Kohl Horsch (Kristena King), siblings James Horsch, Martha Bloom, Judith Swenson, and Nathan (Laura) Horsch, his girlfriend Lisa Anderson as well as several nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
There will be a huge hole in our hearts without Mark here. We will cherish every memory of our times with Mark from snowmobiling, fishing, four-wheeling and including the time spent working on projects together. There is certainly snow in heaven. "Let's Ride!".
