MISHAWAKA- Mark Edward Harmon, 69, of Mishawaka, died Monday January 25, 2021 at Paul's Group Home on Portage Ave. in South Bend, IN. He was born March 21, 1951 in Sturgis, Michigan to Edward and Joan (Messner) Harmon.
On August 17, 1974 in Battle Creek, Michigan he married Ranah Hoard. She survives along with 2 daughters, Amy (Shawn) Gillespie of Ontario, Canada, Kasey (Jeramy) St. Clair of Mishawaka, IN; 5 grandchildren, Libby, Blake, Nolan, Masen, and Lilly. Also surviving are 6 siblings, David (Leilani) Harmon of UT, Keith (Debbie) Harmon of IN, Dale (Beckie) Harmon, Tim Harmon both of MI, Pat (John) Iannotti of FL, Krystal Schwartz and Michael Lipp of MI and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mark graduated in 1969 from Sturgis High School and served in the Michigan National Guard for 13 years. Mark was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mishawaka and a member of the UAW Local #5. He was a model train hobbyist, an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mark worked at Kirch Company in Sturgis for 30 years and at AM General in Mishawaka for 14 years.
Cremation has taken place at Elkhart Cremation Services in Elkhart, IN.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association of St. Joseph County or to Heartland Hospice, 230 W. Catalpa Drive, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
