Holland, Mark Edward, 72, of Ballwin, Missouri, formerly of Waverly, Ohio, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Mark was born in Kenova West Virginia on May 28, 1953, and raised in Waverly, Ohio, Mark graduated from Waverly High School in 1971. He went on to pursue his passion for science, earning a B.S. in Chemistry from Virginia Tech in 1976, an M.S. in Analytical Chemistry in 1982, and a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry in 1984, both from the University of Cincinnati.
Mark was a big man with an even bigger heart, living life to its fullest. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, son, and grandfather. He was a lifelong fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals, while secretly cheering for the Cleveland Browns. He loved the game of golf, especially spending time on the course during outings with his father and brothers..
He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Holland; his children, Daniel Holland, Benjamin Holland, and Scott Holland; his grandson, Zackary Karvas; his brothers, Joe (Teresa) Holland and Rick (Lynn) Holland, his sisters-in-law, Lisa Holland and Sheree Holland, his cousins Nancy and Ron Randlett, and many nieces and nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Patricia Holland; his brothers, Bruce Holland and Tom Holland; and his sister, Deborah Holland.
Mark will be remembered for his generosity, warm spirit, humor, and his deep love for family and friends. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
