Mark was born April 3, 1955 in Proctor, VT a son of Bruce and Lillian (King) Curtis. He graduated from Windsor High School class of 1973. Mark went on to study at the University of Vermont and later at the New Hampshire Vocational Technical College in Claremont, NH.
He was married to Laurel Waite on May 14, 1988 and they made their home in Windsor.
After completing his schooling, Mark started his career as a Medical Lab Tech at DHMC in the chemistry department where he worked as a Technical Specialist Team Leader for over 38 years before his retirement in 2018.

Mark enjoyed volunteering in the town's Little League program where he coached his daughters' teams over the years. As they grew up, he continued to be an avid supporter of their athletic endeavors, especially in softball. After their graduations, Mark remained involved in keeping the book, assisting at pitching clinics, and was known as the "Team Dad." Mark enjoyed the great outdoors where he would spend time golfing, hunting, and walking in the woods. He was an excellent cook, loved listening to "good music", watching westerns, and rooting for the Cowboys and the Dodgers, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
