Marjorie O. Shorter, 98, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. Marge was born on November 11, 1923 in Bremen, IN to the late, Brison and Chloe (Kipfer) Martin. On September 11, 1948, in Bremen, IN, Marge married Clem Shorter. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Martha. Marge is survived by her children; Teri (Shonne) Ghatani, Christine (Curt) Haussmann, Pete (Karen) Shorter and Susan (Bryan) LaFree; grandchildren, Matthew (Cristina) Haussmann, Jonathan (Laura) Haussmann, Ashley (Toby) Brown, Adam Ghatani, Amber (Bill)Ghatani, Zak (Carley) Shorter, Sara (Matt) Loiacono, Jackie (Ben) Donathen, Amanda (Jon) Hueni, Andy LaFree, Allison (Jared) Weldy and Brison Shorter; 20 great grandchildren; and brothers; Dewey Martin, Lowell Martin and sisters; Mildred Leffert and June Pittman. Marge has spent her life serving others. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She volunteered for many organizations including St. Dominic Catholic Church, Food Bank, Women's Care Center, Blood Mobile, Bremen Community Hospital Auxiliary and Meals on Wheels. She received the Bremen Community Award for service in 2014. She loved going to grandchildren's sporting and school events. She enjoyed playing cards and participating at other events at The Whitlock. She was a fan of Daniel O'Donnell; she enjoyed going to his concerts and listening to his music. Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 am, Tuesday, February 15, 2022 in St. Dominic Catholic Church, 803 W. Bike St., Bremen, IN 46506. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am, Tuesday in the church. Reverend Daniel Niezer will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bremen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to St. Dominic Catholic Church or Grace Food Pantry, 1237 W. Plymouth St., Bremen, IN 46506.
