After a beautiful faithful life, and courageous battle with cancer, Marjorie "Mardi" Roberts Morris, 86, passed away peacefully on August 7th, 2022. Mardi was a blessed mother, grandmother, teacher, friend and volunteer. She loved her Gainesville community, and enjoyed many decades of teaching Science, English and Special Education. Mardi is survived by her twin sister, Jean Schimmel (Bill), daughter, Amy Kuhnel (Brian), son, Scott Roberts (Dawn), six grandchildren, who loving knew her as "GrandMardi", Brent Kuhnel, Adam Kuhnel, El Kuhnel, Ford Roberts, Price Roberts, Chase Roberts (Lynne) and one great-grand daughter, Reagan Roberts.
Mardi loved her church, First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville, where she was an active member: Deacon, Stephen's Ministry, Prison Ministry, Good News at Noon, World Mission Conference. She had the joy and privilege of being married to two very special men. In 1960, she married Mike Roberts with whom she had two children. He passed away when she was 46 and the next seventeen years were spent in a fulfilling teaching career and the joy of watching their children and grandchildren flourish. In 2000, she was again blessed to marry Larry Morris and enjoy the retirement years with him, family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 13th, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville.
