Marjorie "Marji" A. Keefner-West, 79 of Great Barrington died Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Marji was born on Pearl St. in Great Barrington on December 10, 1940, daughter of Clarence Johnson and Pearl (Amstead). She was a graduate of Mount Everett High School class of 1958. Marji worked as a supervisor at Price Chopper in Great Barrington as a manager at Great Barrington Savings Bank in Sheffield and as a long time local real estate agent for Isgood Realty, Wheeler and Taylor Realty and Fairgrounds Realty. She loved helping first time home buyers get their first homes. Marji was a member of Berkshire County Board of Realtors since July, 1991, a member of the 250 Year Anniversary Committee for Great Barrington, very active in Great Barrington activities; she volunteered at the Claire Teague Senior Center and loved spending time with her family. Marji was predeceased by her ex-husband Mark West. Marji is survived by ex-husbands, John Trierweiler and Tom Keefner, one son, John M. Trierweiler and wife Kelly of Sheffield, one step son, Nicholas Trierweiler and wife Shauna, her son in law, Kevin Moran of FL, four grandchildren, Jessica Kinney and husband Brian of CA, Matthew Rote of Sheffield, Mitchell Rote of Pittsfield and Morgan Rote of FL, two great grandchildren, Alexis Bonner of FL and Kane Kinney of CA, many cousins among them Linda Dodge, Sharon Bassett, Jim Johnson, Jeff Johnson and Judy Alfasa and forty years plus friends Fran and Larry. In addition to her husband Marji was predeceased by brother, Terry Johnson and her daughter, Bonnie Trierweiler. The family would like to give a special thanks to her many friends and care givers that helped Marji through these last months.
A Graveside service for Marjorie "Marji" A. Keefner-West will be held on Wednesday December 16 at 11:15 AM in Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington. Family will receive friends on Wednesday December 16 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME 33 South St. Great Barrington MA 01230. Everyone attending must wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Marji's memory may be made to the Claire Teague Senior Center or Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
