GOREN, Marjorie Jane "Midge" (Kraft) Of Falmouth, MA formerly of Taunton, passed away at the age of 88 after a long battle with Alzheimer's on June 9, 2022 at Falmouth Hospital. Born on February 13, 1934 in Boston, MA, to Isaac "Al" and Irene (Brown) Kraft, Midge grew up in the Boston suburb of Brookline and graduated from Brookline High School. She moved on to study elementary education at Lesley College and graduated in 1956. While attending Lesley, she met her husband, Dr. Harold "Hal" Goren. They were married in Boston on December 26, 1954, and remained married for more than 64 years until Hal's passing in 2019. Midge and Hal made their home in Taunton, MA for 60 years. While raising her kids there, Midge also began to get involved in her community. She served as president of the Morton Hospital Women's Auxiliary, vice-president of the B'nai B'rith Truro Lodge, and chair of the Southeastern MA Heart Ball committee. She was also a longtime member of Temple Agudath Achim, where she served as a member of the Sisterhood, and was a member of the Boys' Club Auxiliary. She and Hal also gave generously to numerous charities. Midge was widely known for her outsized personality and sense of humor. The life of the party who never met a stranger, she and Hal enjoyed hosting parties at their home, whether it be for Hal's school committee campaigns, for Halloween, for family Thanksgivings, or for no reason other than to have fun and enjoy the company of others. In addition to her parents and husband, Midge was predeceased by her sisters Frederica "Freddie" Kaven and Edythe "Sissy" Cutler. She is survived by her three children, whom she loved greatly: Betsy, David (Ada), and Thomas (Lisa); and her adored four grandsons: Jeffrey, Michael, AJ, and Max. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13th, at Congregation Agudath Achim, 36 Winthrop Street, in Taunton, MA, followed by burial at Lindwood Memorial Park, Randolph, MA. The family will be sitting shiva on Monday, June 13th, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, June 14th, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Clarion Hotel, 700 Myles Standish Boulevard, Taunton, MA.
