Marjorie"Margie" Shields Crider, age 94, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 17, 2020 . Born on February 8, 1926 in Cohutta, Georgia to the late John and Cora Shields, she was a lifelong resident of Whitfield County and a member of Samples Memorial Baptist Church in Cleveland. Margie was a 1943 Graduate of Dalton High School and received a degree in Business Management. She started her work career at Dennis Brent Chevrolet in Dalton, Georgia and went to the Volkswagen dealership when they came to Dalton in 1969, where she worked at Al Johnson VW/ Volvo until she was 88 years old. Margie was a devoted Christian and dedicated her life to witnessing to the lost and winning souls to Jesus Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ray Crider and a baby brother, Rufus Shields.
Margie is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Paul Hampton and Connie and Dale Byers; grandchildren and spouses, Brooke Smith Paez, Dustin and Corey Hampton, Victor Paez, Alise and Christa Hampton; great-grandchildren, Aidan Smith, Jaxon and Isabella Paez, Ethan, Emily, Elliana, and Ezra Hampton, special grandson, Jamie Baker; along with cousins, Betty Sue Lonas, Joe Shields: sister-in-law, Mary Lou Stinson; cousins, Glenda Bandy and Jean White as well as several other extended family and friends.
A private graveside service will be held at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery per her request. Reverend Jamie Baker will be officiating. Paul Hampton, Dale Byers, Dustin and Corey Hampton, Victor Paez and Jamie Baker will serve as pallbearers.
