Marion Dell Rogers passed away peacefully on July 29, 2024. Born to Iredell Henry and Loyce Irene Rogers in Stamford, Texas on August 28, 1935, Dell was a lifelong Texan who graduated Stamford High School in 1953 and eventually settled in Fort Worth after attending college at Texas Tech and Abilene Christian Universities. After college Dell worked for Halliburton and the City of Fort Worth Water Department before being drafted into the United States Army. Dell served his country in the Korean conflict and was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia and Fort Lewis, Washington during which time he earned a Sharpshooter Rifle Decoration and climbed to Private First Class before his honorable discharge in April 1964.
After his Army service Dell returned to Texas and became a long-time Construction Engineer for the City of Fort Worth, serving the city for over thirty years. He was active in Future Farmers of America and was a member of College Avenue Church in Fort Worth. After his retirement Dell enjoyed creating elaborate features for his back yard and spending holidays with family. He always looked forward to hunting quail on the family farm in Jones County. Dell is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and June Rogers of Breckenridge, Texas, his nephew and his wife, Bryan and Kathy Rogers of Richardson, Texas, his niece and her husband, Jaymie Rogers and Mark Josephs of Dallas, Texas, and numerous great nephews and nieces. The family wishes to express its gratitude to the staff of Clear Fork Senior Living in Willow Park, Texas for the care and kindness they extended Dell over the more than final five years of his life.
