Marion Singleton Kirk Carrison

Marion Singleton Kirk Carrison of Hillsborough, NC, died July 6, 2021, after a three-year battle with ALS. His memorial service will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021 in the Church of the Ascension, Hagood, SC at 11:00 am.

He was the second son of Henry George Carrison, Jr. and Mary Alden Ellerbe Haynsworth Carrison of Hagood, SC. Kirk was retired from a career in historic preservation, having spent many years working for the National Trust for Historic Preservation and Preservation North Carolina.

Kirk is survived by four children, Elysia Alden Carrison Yelton (Michael) & Laura Couturier Carrison Yeomans (Charles), both of Edisto Island, SC, Allen Singleton "Kirk" Carrison of Hendersonville, NC, and Nathaniel Alden Carrison of Greensboro, NC. He is also survived by three grandsons, James Michael Lafayette Yelton, Charles Kirk Lamar Yeomans, and Allen Kirk Carrison; and two brothers, Henry George Carrison, III (Molly) of Greensboro, NC, and Perry Haynsworth Ellerbe Carrison of Boston, MA. Kirk is predeceased by his sister, Susan Singleton Carrison. He leaves behind his partner, Carol Staton, of Hillsborough, NC.

Kirk loved philosophy, music, art and gardening. He was a life long student and spiritual seeker.
