Marion Kennerly Caldwell
Help us celebrate Marion! Please share your stories and photos, and invite others who remember Marion.
Marion Kennerly Caldwell died peacefully Saturday August 13,2022 at Jersey Shore Medical Center as she was held in the arms of her adoring husband Jim. She was surrounded by her loving family, who whispered in her ear as the Lord guided her on her way.
Marion lived a blessed life, born in Jacksonville, Florida on October 26, 1943 to George and Belle Kennerly, and growing up with her two sisters June and Beverly. She graduated from Englewood High School in 1961, and looked forward to returning to the reunions to see her great old friends. In Jacksonville, she was one of the first women car sales-persons in town.
In 1972, Marion and her growing family moved to Toms River, NJ where she would spend the rest of her life. Marion adored her husband Jim, with whom she shared a beautiful life for over 45 years. They both felt blessed to have found one another, and they blended a family that grew to love one another. Marion lived to throw parties and loved to entertain family and friends. Many remember her “over the top” Fourth of July parties, which were one of her favorite things to do. She loved seeing her family and friends enjoying themselves and some of us thought she had even arranged those fireworks! Her fondest memories were of trips to Florida and the Virgin Islands, where they often traveled with family and groups of close friends and where Marion was in her glory planning great times for all. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was often seen riding around the yard with them in her golf cart. Marion had many charitable endeavors, and many of us fondly look back on those merry bus trips to Radio City Music Hall. She was also known to babysit her “grand-dogs” whom she also entertained and treated like royalty. Marion had fun in everything she did and her joy spread to all those around her.
Marion will be deeply missed by her husband Jim, children Beth and her husband Phil, Gina and her husband Sal, Stephan and his husband William, and Sharon; by her sisters June and husband John, and Beverly and husband Bill; by her grandchildren Tonya, James, Peter, Lindsay, Philip, Nicholas, Jessica, Christian, Matthew, Thomas, Joseph, and Julia; by her sixteen great-grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews. Marion is predeceased by her parents George and Hattie Belle Kennerly, and by Jim’s son James.
