Mrs. Marine Godbee Holton, born July 29, 1924, entered peacefully into her heavenly home May 8, 2023. Visitation will be at 11:00 AM Thursday May 11, 2023 at Dry Branch Baptist Church Perkins, GA, with service following at 12:00 Noon with Pastors Tim Fields and Brad Boynton officiating.. Interment will be in Millen Cemetery, Millen, GA. Mrs. Holton was a life-long member of Dry Branch Baptist Church and an active member of the Women's Missionary Union until 2014. She worked as an inspector at the Jockey Plant in Millen, GA. and kept accounting records for both her husband's farm and her poultry farm. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Jewell Cohen Holton, her mother, Laura Godbee, her son-in-law Jack Grogan, and grandson, Alan Grogan. Survivors include her children, Jewel Marie Grogan, James A. Holton, Sr. (Geneva) and George Wayne Holton (Samantha); 6 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers include Chris Maddox, Glen Mays, Ricky Saxon, Roger Saxon, Glynn Bassett, Jr., and Wesley Godbee. Memorials may be made to Dry Branch Baptist Church, Perkins, GA 30442 or The Methodist Children's Home, P.O. Box 2525, Macon, GA 31204 The family would like to thank the Westwood Nursing Home Staff for the loving and compassionate care they provided Mrs. Holton for the past 8 1/2 years.
