Marilyn A. (Lange) Reed died December 14th, at her daughter's house in Indian River, Michigan. She was the daughter of Harold Lange and Dorothy nee Kamischke Weiss. Marilyn was born in Bay City, Michigan on October 3, 1931. She graduated from Handy High School and attended many high school reunions. She and Rick were married in Bay City by Rev. Emil Kasischke of Trinity Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Synod on November 23, 1950.
Marilyn graduated from beauty school in Detroit in 1955. She and Rick moved to Grayling Michigan in 1965 with their six children. She operated her own salon, "Marilyn's Hair Boutique," in Grayling for 10 years and had a special friendship with those she helped be beautiful. She loved making new friends and did so easily. She was always ready to go golfing if anyone asked. She never wanted to miss anything going on. She wanted to participate and share her blue eyes and smile, despite not being able to see in her later years.
Marilyn had an adventurous spirit and was able to travel to see the world with her children. Some of that traveling was spent doing research for her passion of genealogy, even finding the name of the ship her ancestors came to the US on. She truly loved her large family and each and everyone of them knew it.
She was a member of Mt Hope LCMS in Grayling Michigan, Our Savior LCMS in Zephyrhills Florida and St Johns LCMS in Cheboygan Michigan. She loved to sing, was a member of the choir and was even an angel in a Christmas program.
