Marilyn Jane Goehry Jensen was born January 30, 1932, in Grant, Neb. to George and Mabel (Franke) Goehry on the Franke family farm. She passed away peacefully on November 1, 2021 in Colorado.
One of four children, she attended grade school in Ogalalla, Neb. before the family moved to Edgewater, Colo. in 1940. After living briefly in Colorado Springs, the family settled in Castle Rock, Colo. where Marilyn attended Douglas County High School and graduated in 1950.
Marilyn was working as an operator at the phone company in Castle Rock when she met her husband of 65 years, Richard Wayne Jensen. They were lovingly married on February 12, 1952 and settled in Greeley, Colo where they raised their three sons. Marilyn was a dedicated mother who also worked for the UNC library in Greeley as well as for Greeley Public Schools. Additionally, Marilyn was a fighter and two-time cancer survivor who relied heavily on her faith as a devout follower of Christ.
She is survived by her three sons - Rick (Barb) of Mesa, Ariz., Terry (Cynthia) of Fort Collins, Colo. and Randy (Tricia) of Pine, Colo.; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one sister, Marilou Wilson, of Castle Rock, Colo. She is preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, one brother, and one granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held on a date to be determined in early 2022 at the Adamson Life Celebration Home in Greeley, CO.
