Grigg, Marilyn J. Harbor Springs formerly-Bay City & Essexville Marilyn J. Grigg, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, completed her journey on earth in the presence of family on June 7th. Marilyn was born in Carson City, Michigan to the late Ezra Cochrun and Beryl Blakeslee. After graduating high school, Marilyn obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and graduated from the first nursing school class at Michigan State University in 1953. While working at Childrens Hospital in Detroit, she met the love of her life, the late, Dr. John W. Grigg, and was married in 1955. Marilyn enjoyed life to the fullest, entertaining her grandchildren, traveling throughout the world, snow skiing in Aspen, CO, golfing, creating stained glass art and enjoying summer beach life on Saginaw Bay were among her interests. Marilyn and John found their "second home" in the 90's becoming snowbirds in Wickenburg, AZ. They enjoyed building a home, playing golf, enjoying their contingent of friends from Bay City and exploring all parts of Arizona. Marilyn's greatest passion, however, was her family. Over the years Marilyn was active in the Bay County Medical Society Auxiliary; Meals on Wheels of Bay County; Michigan State University Alumni School of Nursing and the American Red Cross. Marilyn is survived by her four children: Scott Grigg of South Carolina; Lisa Muneio of Petoskey MI; Judy Grigg of Louisville, CO, and Christopher Grigg (Melissa) of Essexville MI. Her grandchildren include Sandra Greyerbiehl (Matt), Mike Muneio, Rita Yuchasz(Josh), Maria Grigg, Zachary Grigg and Ryan Grigg. Marilyn was predeceased in death by her parents, her husband, Dr. John W. Grigg; brothers Bill Kehren(Sally) Rochester, MI; Donald Kehren (Cathy) formerly of St. Johns, MI. The family would like to thank the staff of Hiland Cottage Hospice (Petoskey), Pineview Cottage (Petoskey) and the staff at McLaren Hospital (Petoskey). Those wishing to remember Marilyn are encouraged to donate to the Bay County Women's Shelter or SVSU College of Nursing. The family will be having a private memorial service.
