Marie Klaehn Ottmers
November 5, 1933 - July 20, 2022
Mrs. Kermit Ottmers nee Marie Klaehn of Fredericksburg, TX passed away on Wednesday July 20, 2022 at the age of 88 years.
Marie was born November 5, 1933 in Gillespie County TX to Adolph and Katie Arhelger Klaehn. She attended Pilot Knob school through 10th grade, after which she was accepted into the Nurses Aide training program at the Fredericksburg Hospital. Marie married Kermit W. Ottmers on June 12, 1954 at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg TX.
Marie is survived by: her husband: Kermit Ottmers of Fredericksburg; her son and his spouse: Carlton and Deborah Ottmers of Fredericksburg; two grandchildren: Chase Ottmers and Cade Ottmers and fiance' Kelli Lahasky; one sister and her spouse: Florence and Kermit Eckert of Fredericksburg; one brother and his spouse: Roy and Debbie Klaehn of Fredericksburg and two sisters-in-law: Opal Klaehn and Margaret Klaehn. Also surviving are nieces and nephews: Ruth Vinciguerra, Brian Eckert, Jana Sturm, John Klaehn, Martin Klaehn, and Eric Klaehn, as well as extended family.
Along with her parents, Marie was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: Marvin Klaehn, Raymond Klaehn, and Betty Baumbach Hemmeter, and spouses Claude Baumbach and Henry Hemmeter. She was also preceded in death by two nephews: Daryl Eckert and Charles Baumbach.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday July 30, 2022 at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church located at 109 E. San Antonio Street in Fredericksburg TX. The family greeted friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the church prior to the service at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Bobby Vitek officiating. Graveside Services and Interment followed in the Greenwood Cemetery. Cade Ottmers, Chase Ottmers, Brian Eckert, Martin Klaehn, Eric Klaehn, and Mark Vinciguerra served as pall bearers.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Hill Country Memorial Hospital, or to the charity of one's choice.
